"Christian Happel is a sculptor and multimedia artist based out of Fayetteville, NC. He is a 2017 graduate from UNC-Pembroke's Bachelor of Arts program, where he earned a degree in Studio Art. He has focused on producing large scale public art pieces since 2017. For him, sculpture is a process of self discovery through analyzing personal experiences. By channeling his personal experiences through art, Christian creates an avenue for his thoughts that he would otherwise struggle to manifest in other forms, and thus he finds out more about himself with each piece he creates. Sometimes this is done in very subliminal ways that aren't fully realized until the piece is completed; and because of that, his creation process is often very fluid. He frequently changes and adjusts things in the moment as his thoughts evolve and the piece begins to fully reveal itself to him.  He is currently focused on developing his body of work in hopes of pursuing a Master's degree in sculpture so he can one day teach at a university.
