The design of this sculpture is based on the innate desire to protect the people, places, things, and ideas we care for most. Three "wings" of steel ascend skyward to envelop the stainless steel ball; representing the limits some of us will go to safeguard the things of importance in our lives, while the ball serves as an ambiguous metaphor representing that which is precious to each individual viewer.
